Being sick in a new city sucks

I have strep throat. It sucks. I havent left my apt. in two days. GRRRRR. All I want is to go exploring around, but I can barely make myself a cup of tea without having to take an hour break after. Mom and Dad are back from Toronto for the day tomorrow, so hopefully I can go get some antibiotics and kill this thing in the neck! I have no idea where to find a clinic in this place, but we'll see how it goes.

So, having said all that, I really dont have much to blog about at the moment since I havent had any life experiences since I last wrote. I've watched a lot of online TV. A few movies. Had a very needed and very lovely skype date with Steph! For that hour and a bit I forgot I was sick! So nice. I have started to become accustom to the sounds of a city. I dont really hear the fire station around the corner from me, or the homeless people yelling outside my window (ask steph about that one!), or the constant sound of traffic. I have always liked white noise. I always like to have a fan on, or a bit of music in the background, so this suits me well. I actually find it comforting (comFortabLe - Stephs french kids pronunciation) to have the city always moving and going even though I'm stuck inside.

Today was the first miss the valley day since I've been here. I think it was just triggered by talking to Steph. I'm sure there will be more like it, but Steph and I agreed that although we miss it, its not the same anymore. What we miss is the valley of fourth year. I am thrilled at the idea of coming back, but its not going to be the same even if it wont have been even 6 months since graduation when I'm there next. Thats not a bad thing, its just progress. There would be something wrong if it didnt change. As scary as change is, I welcome it.

Today I discovered that Tara also has a blog of her time in Bristol. WOOHOO! I love reading about peoples adventures. She just got back from Rome! Brenna flew home to Canada and they both went to see Wicked in London! Gosh! Also, My parents had lunch with my dear friend Myrthin today. Apparently she's in a play in Toronto!!!! Some community theater is doing a play about an Irish villiage. I would KILL to hear Myrt's Irish accent!!! Maybe I'll see if I can plan a Toronto trip around that time to go see it! How lovely would it be if I got to see myrthin and kristen!!

I'm realising that this post is a stream of consciousness post. Its a bit all over the place, but like I said, I wasnt even sure if I had anything to write about! This is turning out to be a long one too! Also probably the most exclamation marks I've used in a while....!!

I have pictures of the apt. that I will post in the next few days. Already this place is growing on me. I love my room and living room! And the claw foot tub in the bathroom aint to shabby either !

Bye for now, and love to all! (last ! I swear),

Jacob
