Taday was the most exciting day i've had since coming here. Ross Ed and Jim were all in my apt. And Ed's parents and their friend. REAL PEOPLE! People to talk to in PERSON. It was exciting. And after that excitement came sweaty pain. We moved all of Ross' stuff out of this apt, and shipped it of to the guys new place. Let me tell you. You havent lived until youve moved a hidabed couch down a narrow, slanted staircase in 35 degree heat. It gets your blood pumpin! I knew Ross had left the bulk of his stuff here, but I didnt realize just how much room it took up. I thought this place was big before....now its a palace! For those of you who know, the living room is about the same size as the one Amara meg tony and I had last year, my bed room is a bigger than my blue room from last year, and the kitchen is about the size of ... I dont know, but its a good size. Now that I'm actually setting up all my own stuff, I'll take pictures and post them tomorrow. My only concern is for the bookcase. I'm scared to fill it. The bottom two shelves are already chock-a-block with the records Amara and I aquired. The third is stuffed with books, but I still have...3? more boxes of just books. I'm afraid the floor will give in if I actually fill it with books. The top shelf is cds. Not too heavy. OH YEAH, to backtrack, the guy upstairs was also moving out today. So add that into the mix of TWO peoples stuff going down a very narrow space in the heat.
Jim tells me that Michelle Earnest is coming to Ottawa this weekend! SO PUMPED. For those of you who dont know her, she was Marlz's best friend and I havent seen her in a year and a halfish! EEE. Speaking of people I havent seen in a long time... Melanie Reeks is in Ottawa, and she told me all about a concert band she plays with called the Nations Capital Concert Band or something along those lines. Its apparently mostly music teachers, retired military players and university kids. Now I have no idea what my life will be like once I start school, but that could be a very cool playing experience!
Last night, I telephoned into open mic night at paddys. Saddest phonecall of my life. I was so happy to hear the old sailor songs, but it crushed my heart not to be there singing them in person. Paddys is an entity unto itself. I really will miss it.
Bev and I are doing a lunchdate tomorrow! This has been like a week in the making and I'm excited! MORE REAL PEOPLE! I'm on a roll.
Ok. I'm pooped. I'm going to bed. I cant wait to take pictures and show everyone tomorrow!
Good nights, and good sleeps.
Jacob
